Item checklist for 60,000 mile auto service:

In keeping with the regularly scheduled service maintenance on your car, the second major service that you will have will be at the 60K miles interval. This one is probably the most important and will be the most expensive as well. In addition to the list below, your car may need a new engine timing belt installed and a valve adjustment. These are two very expensive yet very important repairs that your car needs to make it last many trouble-free miles.

  • Lubricate hinges and door latches.

Cooling System:

  • Inspect hoses and belts and check system for signs of leaks.
  • Flush cooling system every 2 years as required by manufacturer.

Air Conditioning System:

  • Check for proper operation of blowers.
  • Check for proper operation of AC and heater.
  • Replace cabin air filter if equipped.

Check Computer System:

  • Scan computers for trouble codes and check manufacturer database for any recall information.
