There are many repair shops to choose from now days and many more opening up every day. How do you choose the right one? What should you be looking for? We here at GIC Car Clinic want to help you find a good repair shop so we have made a list of some of things you should look for when choosing one.
- First, look for trained mechanics. Don’t just assume that the guy working on your car is qualified to do so. Make sure that the shop hires only trained mechanics that have certifications in the areas of repair and maintenance. Mechanics are proud of their certifications because they have earned them, look for them to be displayed in plain sight in the shop.
- Next up, take a look at the tools. Not all tools are the same. Mechanic tools can range from the very best Snap On or MAC tools down to the cheapest flea-market tools. Also, many of today’s cars require highly specialized tools and equipment. These tools cost the mechanics and the shop itself a lot of money, ensure that they have the right tools for the job.
- Finally, pay the shop a visit and ask some questions. Look for a friendly and welcoming staff that is willing to answer your questions and help you feel better about leaving your car with them. Customer service goes a long way in this industry and if you don’t feel welcomed or comfortable, go somewhere else.
